    NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION 2026-2027

    • If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.
    • Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2026 (born in 2021) may register in Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year.

    Pre-enrolment and registration update

Thanks to all the families who pre-enrolled before the deadline to help our school get ready for 2026–27!

We’re happy to let you know that, based on available space, all students who registered or pre-enrolled before March 25 have been accepted. We look forward to seeing your family in the fall!

For the 2026 - 2027 school year, Elizabeth Finch School is full in planned classes in GRADE 5 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in GRADE 5 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

As a Level 1 school, we accept new students for regular programming as outlined in the Division's Growth Control Model.  Please read over the Model carefully before submitting your registration.  Click here for our attendance area map.

    First Riders event - August 24, 2026

The 18th annual First Riders event will take place on Monday, August 24, at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. This free back-to-school event features guided bus tours and hands-on activities that help students and families feel prepared for riding the bus before the school year begins.

Invitations will be mailed to all early education and Kindergarten students who will receive yellow bus service for the 2026–2027 school year. Any student who is new to riding the school bus is welcome to attend. The event is also open to Grade 7 students who will be riding Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) buses for the first time.

The event is co-hosted with Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord, ETS and bus contractors from across the Edmonton area.

    Sample messaging for school websites

Schools are encouraged to share information about First Riders on their website, as families will likely be visiting school websites for supply lists and other back-to-school information. Sample website text is available and can be posted before the end of the school year.

We’ll also share event reminders throughout August on Instagram and Facebook. If your school’s social media accounts are monitored over the summer, feel free to share these messages.

    BUS SERVICE

As always, the yellow bus service only supports elementary students attending their primary designated school.  This means, as of September 2014, grandfathered students who choose to continue at their current school, but do not live in the primary attendance area, will not be eligible for yellow bus service. This is unchanged from how we provide bus service to students across the District.

    Service for Elementary Students

    • Regular program service
As always, the yellow bus service is provided only to elementary students at their designated school.

    • Alternative program service
Yellow bus service may also be available for elementary students who choose to attend a school offering an alternative program. Contact a school offering the program for eligibility information.

    Service for Junior High StudentsThe

The Edmonton Transit System (ETS) is the preferred mode of transportation for junior high students to get to school.

    Ride times

Minimizing ride times for students is our highest priority. We’ll work to make sure yellow bus service is as efficient as possible and meets the District’s ride time standards. We’ll also continue our ongoing work with the City of Edmonton to discuss how to best provide efficient ETS service for district students.

    Bus passes

Students who receive bus service must buy a bus pass. Yellow bus and subsidized ETS passes can be purchased at your child’s school each month.

    Applying for yellow bus service

Whether your child is new to yellow bus service or a current rider, you need to apply for yellow bus service each school year. Applications can be submitted throughout the school year. To learn about busing, see Get to School. Please contact the school to see if transportation is available to your address.

Yellow busing eligibility for the next school year

    • Current bus students can apply via SchoolZone
    • New applicants can find the application by visiting epsb.ca

If your child has been approved for yellow bus service, you’ll be notified in mid-August with the route number, stop locations, pick-up and drop-off times, and bus company contact information.

Welcome

Principal's Message

Welcome!  Tatawaw!

I am honored to have you as part of our Elizabeth Finch family.  Students, parents and caregivers, family, staff and community members are all important and valued participants in our world of learning.  You all matter a great deal to our Elizabeth Finch family.  Welcome to a year of opportunity, growth, greatness, success and of course, learning!

Learning is a priority at Elizabeth Finch School and learning will take place in many ways.  Literacy and numeracy skills are vital and will be part of learning in every subject.  The characteristics of kindness, caring, respect, inclusiveness and responsibility are only a few of those attributes that will also be a part of the learning in every class and every subject.  Elizabeth Finch is a safe place where students are encouraged and supported in their drive to reach their greatest potential.  Every adult is responsible for every child in the building and we will work as a team to do what is best for all of the children in our care.

What can you do as a student to make your school year the best ever?  Be Kind!  Care!  Look after each other every day!  And most of all, come to school each and every day prepared to learn.  There are so many things in our big world to inquire about and engage in.  Be passionate!  Ask Questions!  Research!  Collaborate!  Take risks and challenge yourself!  Push yourself to achieve those learning goals.  This is your time to be great and be someone who makes a difference in our world.

For our parents and caregivers, I am always open to great conversation and engaging questions.  Please feel free to contact me when the need arises.  You are your child's advocate.  You are important and your input matters.  Your children are the greatest asset in this world and their success depends on all of our support.

The Very Proud Principal of Elizabeth Finch School

Ms. Kelly Davis
